How does the global warming affects the life of the polar bears?

We all know the polar bears. We all have already seen them on the television or at zoo. But due to the global warming, they are loosing their home like the orangutans. The orangutans can be saved and be brought to a help center and they can return living in the forest after they’ve learned how to survive, but the situation for the polar bear is even more worse.

The polar bear normally spend all their life on the Arctic ice. For some periods in the year they stay on land, but they still use the sea ice for hunting. During spring, they hunt intensively to preserve foods for the long winter. Now, the sea ice in Arctic is melting, which forces the polar bears to move from ice to ice and they need to use more energy to catch their foods. The changement of temperature affects heavily and threatens the life of polar bear. Before, they use the sea ice for hunting, resting, mating and travelling, however, they are now loosing their habitat and they are forced to stay in a energy lack period for a longtime. It also makes giving birth harder for the polar bears.

One polar bear needs to eat foods that contain at least 12,325 calories a day to maintain their normal energy. But the researchers found that 4 of 9 polar bears can’t find food that contains the amount of calorie and they have been loosing weight.

Because of the Arctic warming which is caused by the global warming, the number of polar bears have been diminishing from the last century until now for about 40%.
